Transport there and back for you and your bike
We have planned transport options to make your journey to and from the ride as easy as possible. Below is a summary but full details and conditions are included in the Getting There and Back info sheet.
Give your bike to us before you “leave home” through our extensive Home or Depot Services and your journey will be even easier. We figure if you don’t have your bike to lug everywhere then you can use all the regular services just like a ‘normal’ tourist or resident. This service is now available to riders doing the Taste of CQ and Yungaburra Express short ride options.
Cycle Queensland 2013 will start in Mission Beach (1590km north of Brisbane) on Sunday 8/09/13 betweem 9 - 11am (no mass start). The start site is likely to be at Marcs Park, Tully-Mission Beach Road, Mission Beach. By road Mission Beach is 138km south of Cairns, approximately 2 hours drive.
There will be an event campsite in Mission Beach on Saturday 7/09/13 ($20 per head) with showers and toilets only. There are local eating houses and extra options for food on Saturday and Sunday. Full campsite services will be available from 12noon on Sunday 8/09/13.
Cycle Queensland 2013 will finish in Port Douglas on Sunday 15/09/13 between 9.30am and 12.30pm depending on your cycling speed and preferences. The finish site is at the Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club reserve, Mowbray Street, Port Douglas. There will be showers available for people who have an extended trip home.
