Transport there and back for you and your bike

We have planned transport options to make your journey to and from the ride as easy as possible. Below is a summary but full details and conditions are included in the Getting There and Back info sheet

Give your bike to us before you “leave home” through our extensive Home or Depot Services and your journey will be even easier. We figure if you don’t have your bike to lug everywhere then you can use all the regular services just like a ‘normal’ tourist or resident. For details of the excellent bike transport options available see the summary below and the Bike Transport info sheet. This service is now available to riders doing the Taste of CQ and Hervey Bay Express short ride options.

Cycle Queensland 2012 will start in Gayndah (244km NW of Brisbane) on Saturday 8/9/12 at 12noon. The start site is likely to be at Lions Park (Anzac Parade), between Warton & Pineapple Streets.

There will be an event campsite in Gayndah on Friday 7/9/12 ($20 per head) with showers and toilets only if you don’t want to shell out for accommodation in town. There are local eating houses and extra options for food on Friday and Saturday. Full campsite services will be available from 2pm on Saturday 8/9/12.

Cycle Queensland 2012 will finish in Noosa on Sunday 16/9/12 between 9.30am and 1pm depending on your cycling speed and preferences. The finish site is yet to be confirmed. There will be showers available for people who have an extended trip home.

By road Gayndah is 328km north west of Brisbane, approximately 4.5 hours drive from Brisbane.
